Review:
The Pirates
of the Caribbean, Dead Man’s Chest, the sequel to the enjoyable Pirates
of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl is a major
disappointment. This movie overwhelms with special effects and
action. It has too many main characters. Plain and simple there is too
much happening. The movie is an onslaught of
scene changes bouncing from one character to another. It has a massive
amount of action jammed packed into 2 hours and 31 minutes. Despite this,
the movie is too long.
This movie
may still be a box office success due to the ability of both Disney and
Hollywood to market hype and because of the numerous young people who
are titillated by two of Hollywood’s leading men.
I watched
the first movie a second time when it came out on DVD but for this one,
during my first viewing, I
couldn’t wait for it to be over.
